Description

This is an illustration I did recently for an album cover. The band decided not to use it in the end (at least I don't think they used it). I don't do much in the way of commissions (largely because people don't ask) but sometimes working to a brief can yield interesting results that you wouldn't otherwise have achieved.

Postscript to prior: this is done with sciencefiction(and other genre.)bookcovers, internal illustrations and others . there is usual atime frame (even if unspecified by agreement.check you copy right law for time frame . even with a major cloient/publsher you stil own the rights and overall copyright. tyhey paid and contract to useit they own its use /licensefor time period only .even if they own the original piece.its just harder to gain access to the original if dont have it but you of course can work from copies .if they own the piece they are entitled to keep it of course ,but after th eset period of tme has elapsed they have to pay you again(or at least get you to agree to allow its use) as the artist under US (and im fairly sure under international )copy right lawe while they own the piece as property , but the artist retains the rights to use and ownership of intelectuall property. the inelectual property law differs a bit between art and that governing software. most of it in favor of the artist.
